Anne Starr Woods is about 7.5 acres in size and is located southwest of the City adjacent to the South Woods Conservancy. A small parking lot is located on Union Street; the remainder of the park is a natural area as is South Woods. The park is used primarily for walking and nature watching. A ravine cut by Crystal Creek runs through the park. Along with wetland areas, the park contains a vast acreage of upland hardwoods. Privately owned, South Woods Conservancy encompasses another 60 acres and is open to the public. The 1.4-mile loop is considered a moderately challenging route for hiking.
